Neighbourhood Plan - Call for Sites

The production of the Great Staughton Neighbourhood Plan is progressing and the Neighbourhood plan Group have recently considered the responses from the village survey and a workshop with the local community.

The plan will look at the development and use of land in the Parish to 2036. The plan will contain policies which shape what development would be supported and will also contain policies which protect and enhance certain areas.

It has been identified that there is a potential need to support the provision of a community hall, NHS services and training services, as well as affordable housing, retirement homes, and private housing and small-scale commercial units.

We would allocate land for development if sites were available which we consider could deliver sustainable development, and which are compatible with the vision for the area and evidence based studies.

First, we need to understand what sites would potentially be available for such development. The Neighbourhood plan group is therefore making a call for sites. We are primarily looking for small sites which are appropriate in scale to the size of the existing settlement and which will be in keeping or complement the existing build form and pattern of development in the parish.

If you have potential sites, such as a landowner or person with an interest in land who feels they have an appropriate site for allocation in the Neighbourhood Plan you should complete a Response form with the details of the site and a site location plan.

The form is attached on the Great Staughton website or can be obtained from Bob Jewell at 10A The Highway, Great Staughton St. Neots PE19 5DA or from gtstaughtonparishchair@outlook.com

Any queries please contact Bob Jewell as above.

The Closing date for assessing responses will be 14th October 2022.
